We installed 40 solar panels, 11.6kWh of battery storage and a hot water diverter for Copdock and Old Ipswichians Cricket Club in Suffolk.
Founded in 1839, Copdock and Old Ipswichians Cricket Club is one of the longest-standing clubs in the region, but also one of the most forward-thinking. The club wanted to reduce its carbon footprint, lower long-term electricity costs and make better use of renewable energy on site.

Martin Taylor, Head of Cricket, recognised that a solar panel installation with battery storage would be the right next step for the club. After an initial survey and a review of the club’s energy usage, Lanman Solar recommended a first phase of works centred around 30 solar panels, 11.6kWh of battery storage and a hot water diverter to help heat water for the changing rooms using excess solar energy.
This first phase of the installation worked so well, that one year later, Lanman Solar were invited back to add more panels to take the total up to 40 and make the most of the available roof space on the club. Some month's, Martin has happily informed us that they have paid nothing for their energy usage, and have in fact made money from the system exporting back to the grid.

The club were so happy with the installation, that they held an opening ceremony, with Greg Newma (one of our Co-Founders) cutting the ribbon with his three children helping out!
Once again, as we have done on other installations, Greg's children are all members at the club, so it seemed like the perfect scenario for us to get involved and give back to a fantastic community centre and cricket club and offer to sponsor them for a minimum of three years. And hopefully more!
